5/4/2006 Hunting, Fishing, Park Entry Permits Are Perfect Graduation Gifts - Tom Keith Lincoln, Neb. -- If you are having trouble deciding on the perfect gift for a friend or relative who is graduating this year, consider buying them the gift of a lifetime, a Nebraska lifetime hunt, fish or combination hunt-fish permit, or a lifetime habitat stamp. Purchasers of a lifetime fishing, hunting or combination permit at current prices save the cost and obligation of buying a new license each year. A holder of a lifetime permit need only purchase annual stamps required for specific fish and game. Lifetime hunt, fish or combination hunt-fish permit, and lifetime habitat stamp are available to both residents and nonresidents. Lifetime permits may be purchased at any Nebraska Game and Parks Commission office. Lifetime permit prices are figured on a sliding scale pricing structure based on the applicants age. A lifetime permit price chart can be found on the Commissions web site at www.outdoornebraska.org. There is no age limit on lifetime permits, so proud parents or grandparents can get one for a new baby if they wish. Lifetime permits are not valid for big-game hunting in Nebraska. Individuals must still follow regular application procedures and pay the appropriate fee for the special permits for hunting deer, antelope, turkey, elk and bighorn sheep. Anyone may purchase a lifetime permit for as a gift for someone else. However, they must provide all of the vital information requested on the application form, including the recipients social security number. It is not necessary to obtain the recipients signature. In this case the donor may sign instead.
