Backyard Pond Workshop Set for May 25 at Ak-Sar-Ben Aquarium - Tom Keith

Lincoln, Neb. -- The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission has scheduled a workshop for people interested in developing and caring for a backyard pond for 7-9 p.m. May 25 at the Ak-Sar-Ben Aquarium in Schramm Park State Recreation Area located six miles south of I-80 exit 432 or about six miles west of the junction of Neb. Highway 31 and Neb. Highway 50.

Landscape designer Jason Heller of Mulhalls Nursery will discuss the design, installation and maintenance of backyard ponds typically used to display goldfish and koi, which are also important water sources and habitat for urban songbirds and other wildlife.

The workshop is free, but seating is limited. To register contact Barbara Fougeron at 402-332-4543.
