FRANKFORD ARSENAL RE-OPENED; TEMPORARY HOURS OF OPERATION ESTABLISHED
March 1, 2006

The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) today re-opened its Frankford Arsenal Access Area in Philadelphia County. The site had been closed for the winter since December.

On a temporary basis, Frankford Arsenal will be open for public fishing and boating use from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The PFBC anticipates resuming normal hours of operation sometime in April, depending on the weather.

The PFBC manages some 300 properties to provide free boat launch and/or fishing opportunities on the waters of the Commonwealth. The Frankford Arsenal Access is one of the most popular public recreational fishing and boating sites on the lower Delaware River.

To find additional public boating and fishing locations, select the "County Guides” section of the PFBC web site.
