Spring Turkey Hunting Permit Applications at Oxbow and Assabet National Wildlife Refuges Available

A limited number of permits for spring turkey hunting will be issued by the US Fish and Wildlife Service for the spring turkey hunting season in the Oxbow National Wildlife Refuge (NWR) in the Devens area and the Assabet River Wildlife Refuge in the Sudbury area.  A lottery for spring turkey hunting permits will be held the first week of April. To participate in the lottery, completed permit applications must be received no later than 4:30 pm on March 31, 2006. Applications for the permits are online at: http://www.fws.gov/northeast/oxbow/   Hard copies are also available at the Great Meadows NWR in Sudbury as well as MassWildlife District Offices and the Westborough Field Headquarters.  Completed applications may be submitted via e-mail to Michael_Dixon@fws.gov, hand delivered Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, or mailed to: Eastern Massachusetts National Wildlife Refuge Complex, Attention: Michael Dixon, 73 Weir Hill Road, Sudbury, MA 01776.
