TAKE THE FAMILY TO FISHING SCHOOL!

Looking for a way to cure cabin fever and spend some quality time with your family and friends? Take them to a freshwater fishing clinic or course! A survey conducted by the Recreational Boating and Fishing Foundation found that 35% of all Americans said fishing and boating are the best ways to spend quality time with their families. 87% of those surveyed think fishing and boating have a positive effect on family relationships. 90% of Americans said that fishing and boating help to reduce the stress in their lives. For beginners, the Massachusetts Angler Education Program offers learning experiences that can be used in the great outdoors in April!

MassWildlife's Angler Education Program has teamed up with other agencies, municipalities, organizations and businesses to provide free fishing courses, festivals and loaner equipment for beginning anglers of all ages. Learn to tie a knot, identify a fish, use fishing equipment, learn about safety and cast a line with Angler Education volunteers. Weather conditions permitting, a fishing trip is also scheduled.  Courses and clinics are free, subsidized by angler’s licenses. Current March fishing courses and phone contacts include:
