Free Fishing Day Poster Contest

The Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) is now accepting entries for its fourth annual Free Fishing Day Poster Contest that is open to all of Nevada’s 4th and 5th grade students.

Maureen Angel, NDOW public information officer, said the theme of this year’s contest is “Fishing is For Families.”

The student who submits the winning entry will receive a guided fishing trip along with a rod and reel. In addition, the student’s winning picture will be featured on NDOW’s 2006 Free Fishing Day poster.

Nevada’s annual Free Fishing Day will be held on Saturday, June 10. On that day all residents and nonresidents may fish in any public fishing water in the state without being required to have a fishing license.

Pictures for the contest need to be submitted to NDOW by March 3. Students who are interested in participating in the contest should contact their schools. Information and contest rules are published online at www.ndow.org.
