IDAHO FISH AND GAME
MAGIC VALLEY REGION NEWS RELEASE Jerome, ID
Idaho Fish And Game Wants Input On Big Game, Upland Game, And Trapping Regulations Big game meetings JEROME - The Idaho Department of Fish and Game wants to talk to sportsmen to help develop the regulations for the upcoming hunting and trapping seasons. The three public meetings will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Feb. 15, at the Burley City Hall; Feb. 16, in Hailey at the Community Campus, room 903; and Feb. 17, at the Magic Valley Regional Office. "We are hoping to have a good turnout at the meetings," said Randy Smith, Regional Wildlife Manager. "In addition to proposals for big game seasons, hunters will have a chance to look at the most current population survey data and harvest information." "Of most interest to hunters will be changes in traditional muzzleloader deer hunts, substantial changes in Unit 45 deer hunts, and reductions in Unit 43 elk permits," he said. "The Department is also looking for input on standardizing Unit 53 deer seasons." While learning and discussing the possible hunting season changes with Fish and Game staff members, hunters can have their trophy animals officially measured by certified Boone & Crockett, Pope & Young and Longhunter Society measurers. The measuring is free of charge and will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Feb. 15, at Burley City Hall; Feb. 16, at the Hailey Community Campus; or Feb. 17, at the Magic Valley Regional Office. For more information, call 324-4359.
