Tracking Workshop at Sessions Woods WMA in Burlington

This year’s “Winter Tracking Workshop,” sponsored by the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection’s Wildlife Division, will take place at the Sessions Woods Wildlife Management Area on February 26, at 1:00 p.m. Wildlife Division staff will lead participants on a hike of the property to search for animal tracks and signs. Lessons on recognizing common animal tracks and trail patterns will be discussed. Workshop participants should dress for the weather (boots, hat, gloves, layered clothes) and adults must accompany all children under age 12.

The Sessions Woods Wildlife Management Area is located on Route 69 in Burlington. The program will begin in the Conservation Education Center but will be cancelled if there is inclement weather or no snow cover. Pre-registration is required. For more information or to register, contact the Sessions Woods Conservation Education Center at 860-675-8130 (Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.). Leaders of youth groups can call Laura at 860-675-8130, to schedule a date for a similar program.
