The Walls of Brandywine Creek Photo Contest Underway

If you like the outdoors, enjoy photography and want to have fun, think about entering the “Walls of Brandywine Creek” photo contest. The competition has just been launched and will run through June 30, 2006.

The subject is the historic stone walls in and around Brandywine Creek State Park. One of those walls, inside the park, must be a key element in any photo entered.

This contest is open to everyone and will be judged by an expert panel. The winners will have the honor of having their work published in a wall calendar or postcard book produced as a fund raiser for the Friends of Brandywine Creek State Park.

Go to or call the park office for complete rules, or look for information at www.destateparks.com. Catch your favorite shot in different seasons while you enjoy one of the most magnificent parks in Delaware.

More about Brandywine Creek State Park: Towering tulip trees, old farm buildings, and rolling hills framed by grey stone walls welcome visitors to this beautiful park. Hiking, picnicking, nature trails, fishing, mountain biking, canoeing and a disc golf course offer visitors a variety of ways to enjoy their day. Brandywine Creek State Park offers year-round opportunities for enjoying our wild world.

Annual passes for 2006 are available at the Nature Center. Entrance Fees are charged May 1 – Oct. 31, 2006. Pre-registration is required for all programs unless otherwise noted.

Location: Brandywine Creek State Park is located just off the intersection of Route 100 and Route 92 on Adam’s Dam Road.
