Frankfort, KY -  Citing high water, state fisheries officials have postponed a shad removal project for Doe Run Lake in Kenton County. Biologists with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources had planned to spray the lake with a chemical designed to kill the nuisance fish this week. However, heavy rainfall raised the water level too high to proceed with the spraying. The project will be rescheduled at a later date.

The shad removal project is an effort to improve fishing at the lake, which the Kenton County parks system owns and operates.
