NEW YEAR MEANS NEW LICENSES

12/12/2005  -  CHEYENNE – Hunting and fishing continues into the new year – as long as you have a new license.

2006 fishing, small game/game bird and trapping licenses, plus conservation stamps will go on sale at private license agents no later than Dec. 19, reports Jean Cole, license manager for the Wyoming Game and Fish Department.   She said the new licenses and stamps are being shipped to the 400 license agents across Wyoming.

“Hunters and anglers will have plenty of time to get their 2006 licenses before January 1,” Cole said.   She reminds hunters that even though rabbit, squirrel, waterfowl, mountain lion and trapping seasons continue into the new year, 2005 licenses and stamps expire Dec. 31. The federal migratory waterfowl stamp and “Harvest Information Program” permit are valid through June, and 2006 waterfowl hunters are reminded to keep the stamps with them.

Whether or not you venture afield in January, the Game and Fish wishes you a prosperous and healthy new year.
