Contact: Marvin McNew Winter craft workshop Nov. 19 at Salamonie The interpretive center at Salamonie Lake Reservoir will offer host of holiday activities in a warm and friendly atmosphere over the winter months. A holiday craft program is set for Nov. 19 at $10 per person. Instructors will give two identical sessions, one from 9 a.m.- noon and one from 12:30 -3:30 p.m., at which guests can create three holiday crafts. Marvin McNew, director of interpretive services, said, "We’re excited to offer this half-day experience for the very reasonable cost of $10. Participants make a holiday wreath, a decorative candle centerpiece, and a small basket." Attendance is limited for each session. Call 260-468-2127 to sign up for the morning or the afternoon session. Table space is available for those who wish to bring lunch and eat with fellow workshop attendees. Watch for upcoming details about Salamonie’s Dec. 18 holiday open house, as well. Salamonie Interpretive Center hours are 1-5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and Sunday, and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday from October through April. The building will be closed November 27 to allow staff to spend the holiday with their families. Featuring exhibits, floor to ceiling windows in the wildlife viewing area and staff to answer questions, the center is located in Lost Bridge West Recreation Area on Highway 105 in western Huntington County near Andrews.
