Contact: Maria Abel-Crecelius Patoka Lake offers Marsh Walk September 24 DNR wildlife specialist Aron Showalter will lead a Marsh Walk at Patoka Lake Reservoir September 24, starting at 9 a.m. Participants will meet at the Patoka Lake Visitor Center and caravan by car to a the Youngs Creek marsh area. "Wear comfortable walking shoes, bring drinking water and snacks, and join us in the great outdoors for this extended look at the features of Patoka Lake," said Maria Abel-Crecelius, Patoka Lake visitors center. She added that visitors should arrive with their cars fueled and bring binoculars and cameras. "You never know what you’ll see." Participants will learn about marsh management, emergent plants, ecology of wetlands, and such marsh creatures as eagles, kingfishers and otter. All ages are welcome. This workshop is free, except for the $4 per vehicle ($5 out-of-state) gate fee.
