LITTLE
ROCK - The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission has answers to your
questions about hunting season and watching wildlife. Simply dial
“Outdoor Hotline.”
A crew of experts will be on hand in the Arkansas Educational Television
Network studios to take calls from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sept. 22 during
the show. Upcoming hunting seasons, including deer and waterfowl
seasons, will be discussed, as well as watchable wildlife opportunities
in Arkansas.
“Outdoor Hotline” will serve as a statewide public meeting,” said Steve
“Wildman” Wilson, AGFC public affairs coordinator. “Outdoors enthusiasts
can call in their questions and comments about hunting and fishing or
anything else dealing with the great outdoors. It is better to get your
questions answered about rules and regulations now rather than have a
wildlife officer educate you in the field and charge you for it. Those
lessons can be costly.”
The watchable wildlife panel includes Lucy Moreland, chief of the AGFC
Education and Outreach Division; Kirsten Bartlow, AGFC watchable
wildlife program coordinator; Catherine Rideout, AGFC ornithologist, and
Amber Mascuilli, Lake Dardanelle State Park naturalist.
A collection of deer experts includes Cory Gray, AGFC deer program
coordinator; Capt. Ron Aaron, AGFC wildlife officer supervisor, and Matt
Finley of the Quality Deer Management Association.
The waterfowl panel consists of Andrew James, AGFC waterfowl program
coordinator, and Kevin Wood of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
