Contact: Maria Abel-Crecelius Patoka Lake is "Wheelin’ in the Fish" September 17 People with special needs are invited to Patoka Lake Reservoir’s Osborne boat ramp for the 4th annual "Wheelin’ in the Fish" program September 17 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. EST ("slow time"). "This free fishing event promotes the accessible features of Patoka Lake for fishing and boat rides," said Maria Abel-Crecelius, interpretive naturalist at Patoka. "It’s an outdoor recreational opportunity that’s guaranteed to bring folks together." The Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Patoka Bass Anglers, Southern Indiana Center for Independent Living (SICIL) and Patoka Lake Village host this annual event. Fishing poles, tackle and bait are provided while supplies last. Lunch also will be provided. The day will include drawings for door prizes, and certificates will be awarded to all participants. Participants should bring lawn chairs, sunscreen and insect repellent. This program is free with the $4-per-vehicle ($5 out of state) gate fee. Patoka Lake Reservoir is located in Wickliffe.
