NEOSHO WATERFOWL U.S.A. CHAPTER BANQUET SEPT. 17

ST. PAUL -- Waterfowl U.S.A.'s Neosho Chapter Annual Banquet will be held Saturday, Sept. 17, at the St. Francis Parish Hall in St. Paul. Doors will open at 4:45 p.m. The cost is $20 for singles and $30 for couples. The fee includes dinner, membership, and subscription to the bi-monthly Waterfowl U.S.A. magazine. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m.

A duck hunters’ package, which includes a Baikal MP153 3 ½-inch 12 gauge, 36 duck decoys, a Mojo mallard, and a Fred Zink duck call will be among many items to be raffled. In addition, there will be 15 other guns raffled.

Founded by biologists to preserve and improve waterfowl wintering and breeding habitat within the United States, Waterfowl U.S.A. is a national, non-profit conservation organization dedicated to using funds in the areas in which they are raised for local and state waterfowl projects. In 2000, funds raised by the Neosho Chapter financed construction of the youth hunting pool at the Neosho Wildlife Area. In 2003, proceeds were used to purchase and install water control structures and outlet tubes in Neosho's South Unit.

Money from the 2004 banquet, as well as this year’s proceeds, will be used to restore Pool One at the Neosho Wildlife Area. Ground breaking on the project is set to begin immediately following this year's duck season.
