DNREC to Hold Public Workshops Aug. 30 and Sept. 1 on TMDLs for Chester, Choptank, Marshyhope and Pocomoke River Watersheds

The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control will hold public workshops Aug. 30 and Sept. 1 on the proposed total maximum daily loads (TMDLs) for nutrients, dissolved oxygen, and bacteria for the Chester, Choptank, Marshyhope and Pocomoke River watersheds in Delaware. TMDLs establish the maximum amount of pollutants that can be discharged to a waterbody from point and nonpoint sources while maintaining water quality standards.

The first workshop will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30 at the Hartly Fire Hall, 2898 Arthursville Road in Hartly. The second will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1 at the University of Delaware Cooperative Extension Service Research and Education Center, 16684 County Seat Highway (Route 9) in Georgetown.
