Drunk Boating
Operation Successful
NRP charged two boaters with alcohol
violations during a saturation patrol Saturday, Aug. 6, on the South
River. Thirteen people were also cited for various boating violations, 19
warnings were issued and two were charged with operating a vessel while
intoxicated:
 | Timothy S. Wierzbicki, 39, of
Washington, D.C. was operating a 18-foot power vessel and was
apprehended for exceeding the posted 6-knot speed limit near the Rt. 2
bridge. He was cited for OWI and subsequently released.

 | John B. Gillogly, 46, of Edgewater,
Md. was apprehended for exceeding the posted 25-knot nighttime speed
limit near the South River and for exceeding the posted 6-knot speed
limit near the Rt. 2 bridge. Gillogly passed out during the apprehension
and was transported to Anne Arundel Medical Center for treatment. He was
cited for OWI and remained in the hospital for evaluation. |
