Final Valley County Hunter Ed course scheduled for Aug. 15-20

The final Hunter Education course of the season in the Glasgow and Fort Peck communities is scheduled for Aug. 15 through 20 and will be held at the new Fort Peck Interpretive Center below Fort Peck Dam.

Prospective students – or parents/guardians of students under age 18 – are required to pre-register for the class and pick up course materials by visiting Fish, Wildlife & Parks’ Glasgow office before Wednesday, Aug. 10. The course will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday through Friday evenings at the interpretive center, located between Kiwanis Park and the Fort Peck Dam powerhouses just below Fort Peck Dam. Students are also required to attend a mandatory field day on Saturday, Aug. 20.

Hunter Education is required of all hunters born on or after Jan. 1, 1985. Students must be at least 11 years old to take the free Hunter Education course, taught by volunteer instructors. If you plan to attend the course and will need special facilities or accommodations relating to a disability, please contact FWP at 228-3700.
