McCormick’s Creek State Park hosts Wildlife Weekend August 6-7
At McCormick’s Creek State Park’s August 6-7 theme weekend, "Wild About Wildlife," the nature center will overflow with animals and nature lovers.
Co-sponsored by wildlife rehabilitative service organizations, this event will emphasize animal needs, habitat conservation, and volunteer opportunities.
The weekend’s activities all take place at the nature center, and will include:
Saturday
| 10 a.m. | Skylar the arctic fox, presented by WildCare Inc. |
| 11 a.m. | DaVinci the crow, presented by WildCare Inc. |
| 1:30 p.m. | owls and hawks, presented by interpretive naturalist Tammy Davis (a special bilingual English/Spanish presentation) |
| 7 p.m. | Bats and bat rehabilitation, presented by interpretive naturalist/bat rehabilitation specialist Terri Warne |
Sunday
| 10 a.m. | Turtles, snakes and toads |
| 1-2:30 p.m. | Scats and Tracks workshop, presented by McCormick’s Creek interpretive naturalists ($2/person) |
All sessions are free except for the $2/person Scats and Tracks workshop on Sunday. The regular gate fee ($4 per vehicle; $5 per out-of-state vehicle) applies.
