O達annon Woods hosts Blue River cleanup and canoe trip

O達annon Woods State Park invites folks to enjoy an afternoon of camaraderie, fun, and the satisfaction that comes from improving the environment on Saturday, July 16 at Blue River Cleanup Day.

Participants will meet at 9 a.m. at the Hickory Hollow Interpretive Center at O達annon Woods State Park. Then, armed with trash bags, they値l disperse to access sites along the river. Volunteers will receive a complimentary picnic lunch and short canoe trip on the Blue River.

The park asks participants to bring gloves and wear long pants and shoes that can get wet and/or muddy. Canoes will be donated by The Nature Conservancy Blue River Project Office.

"Do a good thing for Indiana痴 designated Natural and Scenic River, and have fun at the same time!" urged Carla Striegel, interpretive naturalist at O達annon Woods, adding that this program is part of the Wyandotte Adventure Outings (WAOs).
