Contact: Fred Wooley Pokagon State Park to host fireworks Pokagon State Park will host its annual fireworks show on Saturday, July 2 at 9 pm, at the park’s Potawatomi Inn. In case of inclement weather, the fireworks will be rescheduled for Sunday, July 3, at the same place and time. "We encourage folks to come early, as the park fills up early," said Fred Wooley, park interpreter, adding that participants also should bring lawn chairs or blankets. A parking shuttle will run all evening between the inn and various parking lots throughout the park. Limited parking for those with special needs is available near the inn. Flashlights are recommended for those walking back to their cars after the event. The Lake James Association sponsors the fireworks each year. Angola Boy Scout Troop 125 will provide refreshments. This event is offered free of charge, except for the regular park entrance fee ($4 per vehicle; $5 per out-of-state vehicle). Annual park entrance passes (available for purchase at the front gate for $26) replace gate fees at Pokagon State Park and all other state parks, except for Falls of the Ohio. For further information, call the Pokagon State Park at 260-833-2012.
