Bluegrass and gospel music at Limberlost State Historic Site Sunday

Musicians and music lovers alike are invited to enjoy Bluegrass Jams at Limberlost State Historic Site Sunday, June 19, from 2 to 4 p.m.

Musicians are invited to participate in some old-fashioned fun by either performing solo or jamming with others. All are welcome to show off their talents by performing his or her choice of acoustical music.

Everyone is invited to bring a lawn chair and enjoy an afternoon of bluegrass ballads, gospel songs and folk tunes. Don’t be surprised if you find your feet tappin’ along to the music. There also will be games for the visitors to participate in.

Saturday’s jam will be the first of a total of five Bluegrass Jams on the third Sunday of every month from June through October. Admission is free to the public.

"We just want everyone to come out and have a good time," said Randy Lehman, Limberlost site manager. "If you missed last year’s concerts, this is your second chance. You won’t want to miss out again."

The Limberlost gift shop will be open and guided tours of the Limberlost Cabin will be available before, during, and after this event.

Briggs Hardware, CDM Inc./Amishmart, Adams County Hospital and Limberlost Construction, Bluegrass Jam sponsors, are providing prizes for the games.
