Swift Ponds near Fort Collins.
Young people from eight to 16 years of age
are invited to attend a free outdoor skills workshop on June 25, from 8:45
a.m. to 2 p.m. at Louis Swift Ponds in Fort Collins. The workshop, which

archery, shooting skills, fishing skills and wildlife observation skills.
Louis Swift Ponds is located just east of I-25 between Windsor and Fort
Collins.

set up fishing poles, cast, and catch fish. Participants will be able to
practice their skills in Louis Swift Ponds and take home a fishing rod.
Division of Wildlife (DOW) officers and experienced sportsmen will teach
kids about gun safety and marksmanship, and instruct them as they practice
their shooting using the DOW’s indoor laser hunting system. The Fort Collins
Archery Association will show youths how to shoot a recurve bow.
Wildlife observation skills will be taught at the workshop.
Outdoor safety will be presented, including a fun activity designed to teach
what items to take along on a day hike. Participants will also put together
a small survival kit, which they can take home.
