Workshop For Farm And Ranch Women Set For Aug. 13-14
The International Becoming an Outdoors-Woman (BOW) program is coming to
Montana Aug. 13-14 with a new workshop, the "Jane Deere." The workshop is
open to anyone 18 and older, including those who may not be actively
involved in agriculture, but are interested in natural resources.
The two-day program at the Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Ranch near Dupuyer
will be one of four pilot workshops presented this year by the International
Becoming an Outdoors- Woman organization of Stevens Point, WI. Montana’s BOW
program, administered by Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks, is affiliated with
the International group.
“There is an esprit-de-corps that develops at BOW workshops,” says
International BOW assistant director Peggy Farrell. “Women have fun,
encourage each other, and learn new ways to appreciate our natural
resources.”
Women who attend the Jane Deere workshop will gain hands-on experience in
identifying wildlife and habitat types, target shooting, fly fishing, native
plants and plant identification, map and compass reading, nature journaling,
stream ecology and more.
With a new workshop specifically for farm and ranch women, BOW brings this
important group of women an opportunity to expand their knowledge of land
stewardship in a supportive setting with like-minded women. This program is
offered in partnership with Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks and the Boone and
Crockett Club. For more information, contact Peggy Farrell, toll free,
