Fayetteville area access to White River to be improved

FAYETTEVILLE - The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission has approved building a paved road and parking area at the new Twin Bridges Access area on the White River about 6 miles east of Fayetteville.

A concrete boat ramp has been built at the site by the AGFC. The access area is at Arkansas Highway 45’s crossing of the White and is a popular put-in and take-out point for fishermen, especially during the white bass spawning runs in early spring. Canoeists and kayakers also use it. The parking area covers one acre.

Cost of the road and parking lot paving project will be about $65,000. Money for the project will come from Marine Fuel Tax funds, which are state taxes paid on gasoline and diesel used in boats.
