Road, parking area to be paved at Glenwood Access

GLENWOOD - A road and parking area at the new Glenwood Access on the Caddo River in Pike County will be paved, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission said.

The 600-foot road leads from U.S. Highway 70 to the river. A concrete boat-launching ramp is under construction. The river is popular with fishermen seeking smallmouth bass and other game fish as well as with canoeists and kayakers on the Ouachita Mountains stream. The new access area supplements one a short distance upstream at the highway’s crossing of the river.

The road and parking lot paving project will cost about $40,000. Money for the project will come from Marine Fuel Tax funds, which are state taxes paid on gasoline and diesel used in boats.
