Fort Harrison State Park presents Kids’ Critter Adventures Series Children ages 5 – 8 and their parents/grandparents/guardians are invited to experience hands-on nature activities and make a take-home craft at the Critter Adventure Series this summer at Fort Harrison State Park, Indianapolis. Programs will be offered Wednesday mornings from 10–11:30 a.m. and Friday afternoons from 1–2:30 p.m. between June 29 and July 27. Each week the program will cover a different critter. Every program is a single session and meets at the park’s Nature History Center. A program fee of $5.00 per person will be collected at the Nature History Center, in addition to the normal gate fee of $4 per vehicle at the park gate ($5 for out-of-state-vehicles). Adult chaperones are asked to register for this program and remain with their child throughout the program. Please call the Fort Harrison Nature History Center at 317-591-0122 to register. Park interpreters ask that you do not bring younger tagalongs to the program. Participants are reminded to wear sturdy shoes, sunscreen and insect repellent. The Kids’ Critter Adventure schedule is:
The Fort Harrison Nature History Center is open all year, Wednesday through Sunday, from noon-- 4 p.m. This barrier-free historic building features exhibits, a hands-on Life Lab, and park staff to answer questions. The center is located at the southwest corner of Fort Harrison State Park. The park entrance is at Post Road and North 59th Street in Indianapolis.
