2005-2006 deer permit application process begins soon

LITTLE ROCK - Permit applications will be available for zone doe quota, youth, archery, modern gun and muzzleloader deer hunts on several AGFC wildlife management areas (WMAs) and deer zones throughout the state.

Applications may be picked up at Arkansas Game and Fish Commission offices, license dealers around the state or by applying online at www.agfc.com after June 1. The deadline for applications is June 30, 2005.

New this year will be an urban archery deer hunt at Bull Shoals in northern Arkansas. The season for the special hunt will be open Sept. 12-Nov. 20, 2005.  Applications for the urban hunt will be available at the AGFC's Little Rock Central Office, Calico Rock Regional Office and City Hall in Bull Shoals. Hunters may also request applications by mail from the AGFC.

The application period for the special hunt will also be June 1-30, 2005. Hunters must be at least 16-years-old and possess a valid Arkansas hunting license. Special information on the urban hunt along with a map will be provided with the application. If a hunter's application is drawn, a $35 fee will apply.
