Country at Weekend Workshop The weekend workshop is designed for both first-time and experienced anglers. It covers the basics of fly-fishing equipment, fly-casting, fly-tying demonstrations, stream and fish ecology and how to find those "hot spots" along New Hampshire's rivers and lakes. Casting instruction continues on Sunday, when participants will get float tube demonstrations, learn the roll cast and have a chance to try out their newly learned skills on the Upper Ammonoosuc River. Participants should bring their own or borrowed equipment. A limited number of rods will be available for casting. Waders are a plus, but not necessary. Lodging is available at Barry Conservation Camp, and there is limited space for tent camping. Participants are responsible for their own meals; a microwave oven and refrigerators will be available. The program will be held rain or shine. The "Let's Go Fishing" program introduces thousand of people each year to a healthy outdoor activity that fosters good stewardship of New Hampshire's aquatic resources. "Let's Go Fishing" classes are made possible by the Federal Aid in Sport Fish Restoration Program. The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department works to conserve, manage and protect the state's fish and wildlife and their habitats, as well as providing the public with opportunities to use and appreciate these resources. Fish New Hampshire and relax...we have what you're looking for.
