VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR LOCAL CONSERVATION PROJECT

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is looking for volunteers on Sat., May 14, willing to lend nature and our local schools a helping hand in Sebring. The FWC’s Ridge Rangers have scheduled a workday in Highlands County at Fred Wild Elementary School to help remove non-native, invasive plants from natural areas starting at 9 a.m.

“Protecting natural areas by our schools provides an excellent learning opportunity for younger generations to explore, study and in turn appreciate nature,” said Lynne Flannery, Ridge Ranger Coordinator.
