DNR offers early May, late August and Hidden Jewel camping discounts

Hoosiers who reserve an electric campsite through May 15 at an Indiana state park, reservoir or recreation area will receive $5 per night off the cost of the campsite.

The offer, a part of “Welcome Back to Camping,” applies to all DNR state park and recreation area campgrounds through all DNR reservation channels (Camp.IN reservation call center, Camp.IN Internet reservations, and walk-in reservations).

The discount is for family electric campsites only. Full hook-up, non-electric, primitive and horse campsites are rented at regular rates.

The “Welcome Back to Camping” electric campsite daily rate is Thursday through Saturday — $18 and Sunday through Wednesday — $14.

Back in School camping
DNR is also offering lower camping rates during late August at family electric campsites in DNR park and recreation areas. Campers who reserve a family electric campsite at an Indiana state park or recreation area between Aug. 14 and Aug. 31 and receive $5 per night off the site fee. Reduced-fee August reservations must be made prior to May 31, 2005.

The discount is for family electric campsites only. Full hook-up, non-electric, primitive and horse campsites are rented at regular rates.

More discounts at DNR’s Hidden Jewels properties
Campers may also discover seven out-of-the-way DNR “Hidden Jewel” properties. They can save all year on these Hidden Jewel campsites, or save even more on electric campsites with the “Welcome Back to Camping” or late August camping rates.

The DNR Hidden Jewels are Charlestown, Harmonie and O'Bannon Woods state parks, Cagles Mill and Mississinewa lakes and Deam Lake and Starve Hollow state recreation areas.

“Welcome Back to Camping,” late August, and “Hidden Jewel” daily electric campsite rates are Thursday through Saturday — $16 and Sunday through Wednesday — $11.
