CONCORD, N.H. -- Mark your calendars for New Hampshire Fish and Game Department's biggest event of the year -- Discover WILD New Hampshire Day -- on Saturday, April 30, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Fish and Game headquarters on Hazen Drive in Concord. Admission is free. There will be fun on tap for the whole family, with lots to see -- from live falcons to huge trout -- and even more to do. Try your hand at archery or learn to cast a fishing line. Build a duck box, tie a fly or learn to find your way with a map and compass. See inside a trout stocking truck. Watch retriever dogs in action. Let the kids try a scavenger hunt or make wildlife arts and crafts. Enter a free drawing for a backpack full of prizes you can use on your own outdoor adventures.

One of the best parts of the day is the chance to talk to dozens of representatives from outdoor and conservation groups from every corner of the state, with exhibits and demonstrations to help you appreciate all that's WILD about the Granite State. More than 35 exhibitors will be on hand, from an array of New Hampshire organizations associated with wildlife, nature and conservation, from the Appalachian Mountain Club and the Little Nature Museum to the N.H. Wild Turkey Federation.

Take advantage of special presentations going on throughout the day, including:

The event began in 1989 as an observance of Earth Day and a celebration of the state's wealth of natural resources and outdoor opportunities. More than 5,000 people attended last year's event.

The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department works to conserve, manage and protect the state's fish, wildlife and marine resources and their habitats.
