Patoka Lakes Hosts Spring Festival

WHAT: Spring Festival
WHEN: Saturday, April 16, 2005; 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. EST ("slow time")
WHERE: Patoka Lake Visitor Center, Newton Stewart State Recreation Area Wickliffe, Indiana
WHO: Everyone welcome!
HOW: Enjoy spring outdoors & with a variety of activities, games, displays & presentations at Patoka’s Spring Festival. Recycling drop-off site information, activities & games are available from rawford, Dubois & Orange Counties Solid Waste & Recycling staff. At 10 a.m. Special Guest Aron Showalter, Patoka Wildlife Specialist, shares techniques used in wildlife management at Patoka Reservoir. Patoka’s three live birds of prey will be on display. Experience a "Taste of Patoka" with wild game prepared by Carey Ellis, Patoka staff member. At 1 p.m., Indiana Conservation Officer Jeff Milner and his dog Journey will introduce you to a "Canine on Duty." Bring your extra flower & vegetable garden seeds or plants for a Seed Savers & Plant exchange program during the event. Take a stroll and see the wonders of the day in nature. Programs are free to the public with a$4 per vehicle ($5 out of state) gate fee.
