Have you ever wanted to learn more about nature? This is your opportunity! Indiana Dunes State Park, Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, and the Friends of Indiana Dunes are joining forces to bring a Master Naturalist Workshop to northwest Indiana.

The workshop will be held at the Bailly Ranger Station on Mineral Springs Road in Porter, Indiana. The workshop consists of 8 classes, held on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon. Classes are scheduled April 23 through June 18. There is no class on May 28. After classes end, participants are required to dedicate 30 hours of volunteer time to a local natural resources organization.

The workshop is designed to offer participants hands-on opportunities to learn about Indiana’s natural resources. Speakers from various agencies will cover topics including invasive plants, dune ecology, people and natural resources, and Lake Michigan.

There is a $75 registration fee for the workshop. Checks should be made payable to Friends of Indiana Dunes. Registration forms are available at Indiana Dunes State Park, and should soon be available online at www.indianamasternaturalist.org
