Montana State Parks Annual Poster Contest For Fifth Graders Announced
Montana’s
fifth grade students will have an opportunity to test their artistic skills
this spring by participating in the 2005 Montana’s State Parks poster
contest. This year’s theme for the annual contest is "State Parks: Montana’s
Masterpeices" and the deadline to enter is April 30.
"Our state parks encompass many of the most beautiful and unusual features
in our state and we’re hoping they offer a lot of inspiration for these
young artists to create a masterpiece of their own," said Linda Howard,
Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks parks division.
Contest materials including an activity page that provides a virtual tour of
the parks, a "gallery" of past winning posters and the 2005 contest rules
and entry form are on the FWP web page,
State Parks
Poster Contest page.
The poster artwork may involve all mediums, such as crayon, ink or pencil.
Bright colors and dark outlines are strongly encouraged for better
reproduction. Judges will assess creativity, imagination, theme,
originality, design, and use and control of the medium. Winners will be
announced May 12.
Prizes include a $150 savings bond for first place, a $100 savings bond for
second place and a $50 savings bond for third place. All finalists will
receive T-shirts with the winning entry printed on them. The school
submitting the winning poster will receive free FWP videos and books for
its library.
