Proposals for Alaska Board of Fisheries Due Friday, April 8, 2005

(Juneau) - The Alaska Board of Fisheries is accepting proposals for changes to the subsistence, personal use, sport, guided sport, and commercial finfish regulations for the Prince William Sound, Southeast Alaska, and Yakutat management areas. In addition, the Board of Fisheries is accepting proposals for changes to all Dungeness crab, shrimp, and miscellaneous shellfish fisheries (including all fisheries statewide).

The deadline to submit proposals is 5 p.m., Friday, April 8, 2005. Proposals must be received in a Boards Support Office by the deadline (a postmark is NOT sufficient for timely receipt). For a copy of the proposal form, or for more information about submitting proposals, including addresses and fax numbers, please visit: http://www.boards.adfg.state.ak.us/fishinfo/index.php

In past years, the proposal deadline was April 10. However, in accordance with the Board’s policy, this deadline was adjusted to accommodate weekends, making this year’s proposal deadline April 8.

The Prince William Sound, Southeast Alaska, Yakutat finfish and statewide Dungeness crab, shrimp and miscellaneous fisheries will be addressed at meetings scheduled for October 2005 through March 2006. The draft meeting schedule, with dates and locations, will be available in May 2005.
