Casting for Recovery coming to Arkansas June 10-12

LAKEVIEW - Casting for Recovery is coming to Arkansas this summer June 10-12, at Gaston's Resort on the famous White River in northern Arkansas. Casting For Recovery is a national non-profit organization that provides fly-fishing retreats specifically tailored for women who have or have had breast cancer.

This retreat is free to 14 Arkansas women who will be randomly selected. To apply for this selection, a woman must be a breast cancer survivor and live in the state of Arkansas.  The purpose of each retreat is to promote and support mental and physical healing through the sport of fly-fishing.

Each retreat incorporates education, support and counseling in a natural setting and provide an opportunity to meet new friends, renew spirit and improve health. Physically, fly-fishing provides a gentle exercise for joint and soft tissue mobility for the shoulder and arm following rehabilitation from breast surgery.

Psychosocially, each retreat provides an avenue for social support, reduces isolation, and promotes mental healing in a natural setting.
