“Hunt Outdoor Alabama” Campaign Winners Announced

The Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources announces that winners from its recent “Hunt Outdoor Alabama – Share the Wonder” campaign have been selected. The new mentoring campaign was launched in August 2004. The purpose was to encourage active hunters to pass along Alabama’s rich hunting heritage by introducing newcomers to the hunting experience.

This project, which was administered by the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, was supported by the 2004 Hunting Heritage Partnership, a grant program of the National Shooting Sports Foundation, Inc., and numerous hunting organizations.

Hunters registered online and were assigned a Mentor ID number. After the hunting trip, the guest completed an online questionnaire, and shared details of the hunting experience.

Winners were selected on February 14, 2005, by random drawing from eligible participants. Jeremy Cobb of Millbrook won a 3-day/2-night guided deer hunt from Bent Creek Lodge. Clarence Henderson of Notasulga, James Prugnal of Gadsden, Marvin Reeves of Gulf Shores, Clifford Tomlin of Anniston, and Christopher Dansby of Union Springs won lifetime hunting licenses. Ten winners received ticket packages to a NASCAR race at Talladega Superspeedway and 29 winners received Buck hunting knives. For a complete list of winners, click here.
