REDUCED PRICE LIFETIME PERMITS FOR YOUTHS MARCH 12 AT CABELAS - Tom
Keith
Lincoln, Neb. – The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission is offering a great
savings on the price of lifetime hunting and fishing permits or lifetime
habitat stamps for youth 15 years of age or younger at its exhibit during
the Cabelas Spring Exposition in Sidney, which runs through March 13.
Beginning at 2 p.m. MST on March 12, Nebraskans will have another chance to
take advantage of a special offer similar to those made at the Safari Club
International Nebraska Chapter Annual Convention in Omaha, and at the Omaha
Boat, Sport and Travel Show. As it did at those events, the Commission will
sell 185 lifetime permits at Sidney for youth 15 years or younger for
hunting, fishing and habitat stamps at a discount of $130 each.
The offer is made possible by a donation from the Nebraska Game and Parks
Foundation, a non-profit organization supporting the Nebraska Game and Parks
Commission whose mission is to provide stewardship of Nebraskas outdoor
resources. The Foundation made the donation to further opportunities for
young Nebraskans to take part in hunting and fishing activities.
The permit offer is valid for Nebraska residents 15 years old and younger,
and applies to lifetime fishing licenses, hunting licenses and habitat
stamps. Combination hunting and fishing permits are not included. The
permits will be sold on a first-come, first served basis. People may
purchase multiple permits or stamps under the offer.
The regular price for a lifetime fishing permit is $300, and the lifetime
hunting permit and lifetime habitat stamp are $260 each. Under this special
offer, a lifetime hunting permit or lifetime habitat stamp may be purchased
for $130, a 50 percent discount from the regular price, and a lifetime
fishing permit will cost only $170, a discount of about 40 percent.
The permits will not be issued at the show but will be processed and mailed
to purchasers at a later date.
Also available the Commissions booth will be information about the upcoming
spring turkey hunting season and biologists predictions for Nebraskas best
fishing spots this year.
