PIERRE, S.D. – Deuel County Conservation Officer Dave Bartling was recently recognized as the 2005 Ducks Unlimited Wildlife Professional of the Year. Bartling received the honor during the Annual Ducks Unlimited Convention held in Pierre on Feb. 4 and 5.

Dave has been a member of Ducks Unlimited for many years and currently serves as the area chairman for the Clear Lake committee," said Game, Fish and Parks Conservation Officer Supervisor Scott Lindgren. Lindgren noted that under Bartling’s leadership during the past two years, the Clear Lake Chapter has increased its fund-raising efforts by 132 percent, and it now ranks 6th of 88 Ducks Unlimited chapters in the state for total fund raising dollars."Dave has worked hard in helping to raise ‘bucks for the ducks,’ and he firmly believes in the mission of Ducks Unlimited," Lindgren said. "Game, Fish and Parks is very proud of Dave for his involvement with Ducks Unlimited. He sets a fine example for our conservation officers, and we encourage all our officers to get involved in their local chapters and communities."
