FOUR NEW MEMBERS APPOINTED TO COASTAL ADVISORY
COUNCIL
SANDUSKY, OH - Four Ohio residents who live in counties along Lake
Erie recently were appointed to the state’s
Coastal Resources Advisory Council by the Ohio Department of
Natural Resources (ODNR).
The new members on the 19-member board include: Rodney Althaus
(Ottawa County), Eric Dodrill (Erie County), Vince Urbanski (Lake
County) and John Keenan (Ashtabula County).
Althaus is the owner and operator of a Port Clinton-area dive shop.
He also helps organize the annual Put-In-Bay underwater clean up as
part of the annual Coastweeks celebration. Dodrill, a civil engineer,
is the district director for the Erie County Soil & Water Conservation
District. Urbanski is an environmental planner with Lake Metroparks
and a member of the Lake County Coastal Planning Committee. Keenan is
a real estate agent and works as a laboratory technician for a
colorant company. He also has worked in the Great Lakes shipping
industry.
The mission of the Coastal Resources Advisory Council is to advise
the ODNR director and the Ohio Coastal Management Program on policies
outlined in the program’s document, and to promote, protect, enhance
and encourage the wise use of Lake Erie’s coastal resources and
watershed.
