FOUR NEW MEMBERS APPOINTED TO COASTAL ADVISORY COUNCIL

SANDUSKY, OH - Four Ohio residents who live in counties along Lake Erie recently were appointed to the state’s Coastal Resources Advisory Council by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR).

The new members on the 19-member board include: Rodney Althaus (Ottawa County), Eric Dodrill (Erie County), Vince Urbanski (Lake County) and John Keenan (Ashtabula County).

Althaus is the owner and operator of a Port Clinton-area dive shop. He also helps organize the annual Put-In-Bay underwater clean up as part of the annual Coastweeks celebration. Dodrill, a civil engineer, is the district director for the Erie County Soil & Water Conservation District. Urbanski is an environmental planner with Lake Metroparks and a member of the Lake County Coastal Planning Committee. Keenan is a real estate agent and works as a laboratory technician for a colorant company. He also has worked in the Great Lakes shipping industry.

The mission of the Coastal Resources Advisory Council is to advise the ODNR director and the Ohio Coastal Management Program on policies outlined in the program’s document, and to promote, protect, enhance and encourage the wise use of Lake Erie’s coastal resources and watershed.
