Frankfort, KY (February 16, 2004) - WHAS Radio personality and gardening advisor Cindi Sullivan was honored by the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Commission as a "Kentucky Wildlife Steward" Friday in a surprise award presentation at the Kentucky Commerce Cabinet.

Ms. Sullivan, whose broadcast gardening advice comforts thousands of Kentuckians each morning and afternoon, received the Commission’s award Friday from Commerce Cabinet Executive Director of Communications Billy Reed and Fish and Wildlife Commissioner Tom Bennett. Parks Commissioner George Ward and Cabinet General Counsel Ellen Benzing joined them for the presentation.

"Cindi’s contributions as a board member of the Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Foundation have been invaluable," said Bennett. "Her input, advice and counsel are quite evident all along the walking trails at the Salato Wildlife Education Center, and she has been an important advisor to our Native Plant Program since its beginning."

The Fish and Wildlife Commission recognizes persons who make significant contributions to Kentucky’s wildlife and their habitats.
