LITTLE
ROCK - Commissioners of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission have
authorized the purchase of a seven acre tract on the Dave
Donaldson/Black River Wildlife Management Area in northeast Arkansas to
improve access for hunters.
The cost of the land will be $45,000 plus closing costs of $2,500,
according to Rick Chastain, assistant chief of wildlife management for
AGFC. The land is being bought from
Canoe
Slough Enterprises, LLC.
The purchase will give access to the management area in the Reyno Levee
area near the Randolph-Clay county line. It's a popular area for duck
hunters and also for hunters seeking squirrels and other game in the
Black River environs.
The AGFC bought a
tract a few years ago at the Schaeffer's Eddy area that has helped with
access to the Dave Donaldson/Black River WMA.
