FREE HUNTER SAFETY COURSES OFFERED

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is
offering free pre-spring turkey season hunter safety courses at the
following locations.
"Some are traditional classes and some are online courses.
Interested hunters can check out
MyFWC.com/huntered or call the Lake City Regional Office at 386-758-0525
for dates and times,” said Steve Robbins, Regional Hunter Safety
Coordinator.
Traditional Courses:

Clay County: Feb. 8, 10, 15, 17 and 19 at the Agriculture
Center off Highway 16 in Green Cove Springs. Classes begin at 6 p.m. and
all classes must be attended to complete the course. |

Union County: Feb. 7, 8, 10 and 11 at the First Baptist
Church in Raiford. Classes begin at 6 p.m. The range date will be
determined later and will be held at Bradford Sporting Clays in Graham.

Lafayette County: Feb. 12 and 13 at the Mayo Correctional
Institute on Highway 27, seven miles west of Mayo. Classes start at 8 a.m.
and both classes must be attended. |

Bradford County: Feb. 22, 24, March 1 and 3 in Starke at
the Bradford Vocational Technical Institute on Orange Street. The range
date will be determined. All classes must be attended to receive
certification. |

Taylor County: Feb. 26 and 27 at the Taylor Correctional
Institute in Perry. Classes begin at 8 a.m. Both classes must be attended.

Field Day Courses:
 |
Duval County: Feb. 12 at the Jacksonville Gun Club, 12125
New Berlin Road or Feb. 19, at Gateway Rifle and Pistol Club, 9301 North
Zambito Road. Class starts at 8 a.m. Students must complete an Online or
CD course prior to attending the field day and print out the final report
and bring it to the class. |

Gilchrist County: Feb. 19, at the Gilchrist County.
Sheriff’s Range, Highway 129 between Trenton and Bell. Class starts at 8
a.m. Students must complete an Online or CD course prior to attending the
field day and print out the final report and bring it to the class. |

Alachua County: Feb. 26, at Beckwith’s Pistol Range,
Highway 441 in Micanopy. Class starts at noon. Students must complete an
Online or CD course prior to attending the field day and print out the
final report and bring it to the class. |

Baker County: Feb. 26 and March 6 at Terry’s Huntin’ and
Fishin,’ Highway 90 at the Chevron Station in Macclenny. Class starts at 8
a.m. You must attend both classes to receive certification. |
For the classes and the field days, all children under the
age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
These classes have limited space; therefore, students must
pre-register by calling the Lake City Office at (386) 758-0525.
