KDWP ANNOUNCES FREE FISHING AND PARK INTRANCE DAYS
New this year, each park sets its own free entrance days
PRATT — Two of the most popular promotional events conducted by the
Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks are Free Fishing Days and Free
Park Entrance Days. These are great events for families, allowing
novice fisherman the chance to try the sport for a couple of days
without having to buy a license and park visitors to explore any state
park without having to purchase a vehicle entrance permit. (Overnight
camping permits are still required.)
While Free Fishing Days are the same statewide — June 4-5 this year —
a new rule has allowed each park to set free entrance days when they
feel their constituents will be able to take maximum advantage of
different opportunities available at each park.
