January 26, 2005 DEP Offers Wildlife Programs at Sessions Woods in FebruaryThe Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection’s Wildlife Division will be hosting two wildlife programs at the Sessions Woods Conservation Education Center in Burlington in February. On Sunday, February 6, starting at 1:00 p.m., Wildlife Division staff will lead participants on a winter snow tracking experience to search for animal tracks and signs. Participants should dress for the weather and wear appropriate footwear. The program will be cancelled if there is no snow cover. On Sunday, February 27, visitors are welcome to attend a bluebird nest box building workshop anytime between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Wildlife Division Technician Geoffrey Krukar will be on hand to provide information about bluebirds and where to place nest boxes in the field. Participants can construct a nest box with pre-cut wood for a $5.00 fee and should bring a cordless drill with Phillips head bits, if possible. Pre-registration is required for both programs and children must be accompanied by an adult. To pre-register, or if you have any questions, call the Sessions Woods office at (860) 675-8130, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
