Turkey hunters expo features state calling contests
LITTLE ROCK - Don’t be surprised if you hear the sound of gobblers on the Arkansas State Fair grounds in mid-March.

The Arkansas chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation will hold its Turkey Hunter’s Expo at the Hall of Industry March 12-13. The trade show will feature the latest in equipment, calls and camo on display at booths and exhibitors. Trade show hours Saturday will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $3 with kids 12 and under admitted free.

The state turkey-calling contest will be all day on Marcjh 12 with free seminars all day Saturday and Sunday. Live turkeys will be one of the featured displays, along with an Arkansas turkey killed last spring that sported six beards totaling more than 60 inches. The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission aquarium will also be there.
