PIERRE, S.D. – Page 16 of the 2005 S.D. Fishing Handbook indicates an incorrect date that the fishing seasons reopen this spring for the Minnesota/South Dakota border waters.
"Walleye/sauger/saugeye, northern pike and largemouth/smallmouth bass seasons for Minnesota/South Dakota border waters should indicate April 30 as their reopening date," said Game, Fish and Parks Regional Law Enforcement Specialist Dave Wicks of Watertown. "The areas are open now (Jan. 1) through Feb. 28, but will close from March 1 through April 29."
The fishing handbook on the GFP website at
www.sdgfp.info has been updated. Anglers will need to make that correction on printed handbooks available at license agents and at regional GFP offices.-GFP-
