Contact: Ginger Murphy State Parks and Reservoirs Special Events Calendar If you are dreaming of warmer days and upcoming visits to Indiana’s state parks and reservoirs, you’ll be inspired when you take a look at the 2005 Special Events Calendar on the world wide web at www.dnr.IN.gov. You’ll find information about upcoming hikes, fossil digs, holiday fireworks, reenactments, star programs, music in the outdoors, special autumn family weekends and even a 500-mile bike ride! There are events to enjoy all year. For example, February features a winter hike at Charlestown State Park, a Butterfly Gardening Workshop at Mississinewa Reservoir and a bluebird box building workshop at Potato Creek State Park. March features a woodcock program at McCormick’s Creek State Park, a fossil workshop at Clifty Falls State Park and an Easter Egg Hunt at Spring Mill State Park. You can find entertainment, adventure, relaxation and outdoor learning opportunities in any season. Many events are free with entrance gate admission. Some events include a fee to help cover the cost of materials and preparation. For up-to-date information about the many other daily or weekly programs, nature brochures and interpretive center hours, visit us on the web at www.interpretiveservices.IN.gov. For a hard copy of the 2005 Special Events Calendar, contact Chief Interpreter Ginger Murphy at 317/232-4124.
